Three nostalgia nitro funny cars were on hand including Phil Burkart driving Nick Bonifante’s U.S. Male 1977 Ford Mustang, ‘Crazzzy’ Jake Crimmins in his 1973 Mustang, and Peter Gallen driving his ‘Poverty Stricken’ 1974 Chevrolet Vega. Burkart ran a best of 5.932, 243.81 mph.
Jet Funny Cars were also making passes including Ken Hall piloting the ‘Top Secret’ for Al Hanna Motorsports and Rich Hanna in the ‘First Strike’ car.
The other ‘Hall’--Mike Hall, son to his legendary father Harry was driving the ‘Shenandoah’ alcohol 23-T vs Marty Danko’s ’37 Fiat alcohol injected car.
Jet dragsters included Ernie Bogue’s ‘Beast From the East’, Jill Canuso’s ‘Queen of Diamonds’, Lou Pereira’s ‘Terminator’, and Bob Van Sciver’s ‘Jersey Thunder’.
Danny O’Day’s Superwinch Wheelstander and the wild, car crunching, fire breathing ‘Transauraus’ rounded out the show.
